Dorothy Warren Tyson

Dorothy Warren Tyson, 95, of Albany Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Floral Memory Gardens at 3:00 PM. with Pastor Mark Walker officiating.

Born in Avon Park, FL on May 12, 1927, Dorothy resided in Albany for the past 70 years. She was a member First Freewill Baptist Church of Albany and the Christian Laborers Sunday School Class.

Dorothy worked for Southern Diaper/Flint Industrial Service for over 30 years as a bookkeeper. After her retirement, she spent her time serving her church, loving her family, and enjoying her beautiful yard and flowers.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, James Leroy Tyson, her parents Governor Wright Warren and Claudie Mae Warren, and siblings Lynwood Warren, Van Warren, and Corrine Rentfrow.

Survivors include her sons Randy Tyson and his wife, Evie, of Albany, and Ray Tyson of Panama City, FL, brothers James Warren and his wife, Marcelline, of Mineral Bluff, GA, Wayne Warren of Omega, GA,  Janice Stephens of Omega, GA, Faye Childers of Tifton, GA, grandchildren Kimberly Terry and her husband, Jason, of Albany, and Cassie Dieterle of Marietta, GA, and great grandchildren Jake Randall Powell of Albany, Brooke Dieterle, and Gracie Dieterle of Marietta, GA.
