Donna Willis McCoy

Donna Willis McCoy, 76, of Albany died Thursday, February 9, 2023 at her residence. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Joshua Bower will officiate. 

Born in Atlanta, GA, Mrs. McCoy had lived in Albany since 1960.  She worked for the State of Georgia before retiring in 2011 to devote her time to her grandchildren.  When she was not busy as “Grand” as she was lovingly called, she enjoyed working in her garden.  Her yard was always full of flowers and people were known to stop to admire her work.  She also loved to sew, especially quilts, and made several for her family that they cherish.

Mrs. McCoy was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Al-Anon Family Groups and Wiregrass Quilters Group.  She was also a Volunteer at Phoebe Putney and enjoyed sewing newborn baby blankets with her Church sewing group.  Above all, her most prized and cherished possession was her family.  She loved nothing more than spending time with her daughters and her grandsons.   She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Viola Willis and her husband Eugene McCoy.

Survivors include her daughters, Malinda Duggan Hill and Lena Duggan Waldrop, stepdaughter, Kelley McCoy, stepson Jason McCoy, grandchildren, George Truitt Waldrop, Drew Davidson Hill IV and Savannah Collins, sisters Lisa W. Davidson and Gay W. Davis (Byron) and a host of nieces and nephews.
