Donald Leonard Ruis

Donald Leonard Ruis, 84, of Albany, GA died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jackie Cabanis will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Born in Sylvester, GA, Mr. Ruis had resided in Albany, Ga since 2009. He was a retired dog trainer and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell Wynfield Ruis and Ella Elizabeth Pye Ruis.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Ruis, a son, Donnie Ruis, a step-son, Chad Salter, a sister, Betty Barfield, a grandson, Lane Salter and a great-granddaughter, Elena Salter.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
