Donald David Ruffin

Donald David Ruffin, 83 of Leesburg, died Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Lee County Health and Rehabilitation.

His funeral service will be Wednesday 2 PM at Mathews Funeral Home with entombment in Crown Hill Mausoleum. Rev. Daniel Walker will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6 to 8 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.

A native of Camilla, Mr. Ruffin was a retired Captain with the Albany Fire Department. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and loved to fish and watch the Atlanta Braves. Mr. Ruffin was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #2785.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Cynthia Phillips, Jessica Hooks, Sarah Barthel and Sykeisha Price.

Survivors include his wife Jeanette Chambless Ruffin, Leesburg; sons, Bobby Joe Ruffin (Shelia), Albany, Michael Ruffin (Jackie), Pelham, Ronald Ruffin (Brenda), Albany, Stanley Ruffin (JoAnn) Leesburg, 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
