Donald Franklin Parks, Sr

The funeral service of Donald Franklin Parks, Sr., 88, of Albany, GA, who died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home in Cuthbert, GA, will be conducted Monday, April 11, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye and Rev. Chris Shoemaker will officiate. Interment will follow Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Taylor Co., GA, Mr. Parks had resided in Albany, GA since 1945 moving from Miami, FL. He was veteran of WW II serving in the Army, was the owner/operator of Donald Parks Chevron, a member of the Golden Key at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Senior Friends at Palmyra Medical Center, a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church, Brothers in Christ Sunday School Class and served as Sunday School secretary and treasurer for over thirty five years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Mae Hill, his parents, John Gordon Parks and Julia Lois Woods Parks, three brothers, Carson Parks, Errol Parks Raymond Parks and two sisters, Voncile Buckner and Elizabeth Butler.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Donald F. Parks, Jr. and Betty Clegg Parks, Roswell, GA, a daughter and her husband, Partricia Bradley and Jimmy Bradley, Cuthbert, GA, a grandson and his wife, Jim Bradley and Michelle, a granddaughter and her husband, Catherine Delp and Chris Delp, three great-grandchildren, Matt Bradley, Travis Delp and Chase Delp and a sister, Kathryn Vann, Warner Robins, GA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at Mathews Funeral Home.
