Don Bernard Picciotto

Don B. Picciotto, 85, of Lee County, GA, died October 14, 2025 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at Leesburg City Cemetery. Rev. Pete Daughtry will officiate. Military Honors will be provided by The United States Army Honor Guard. The family will receive friends following the service.

Don was born on October 23, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph and Evelyn Picciotto. He grew up there where he was raised Roman Catholic and graduated from Overbrook High School in 1957. Don joined the United States Army and completed his service with the rank of Sergeant E-5. He then moved to New Jersey and was employed with Civil Service.

He was transferred to Albany, GA in the 70’s and was employed with The Marine Corps Logistic Base. Known for setting a high standard for his colleagues and his leadership, he retired after 36 years as the Director of Systems Processing. Don married Ruth Breeden Briggs in 1984 and had lived in Lee County for 41 years. During his retirement he and Ruth enjoyed numerous vacations and trips abroad making friends and wonderful memories. He took great pride in whatever he did including his career and his home. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a younger brother, Eddie Picciotto and his sister, Marta Liguori.

Survivors include his wife Ruth Briggs Picciotto of Lee County, GA, and his stepson, Nick Briggs. Also surviving are Don's four children Ed, Michele, Alicia, and Carla.
