Dianne Ashcraft Brookins

Dianne Ashcraft Brookins, of Albany, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the Willson Hospice House at the age of 74. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Mathews Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Rev. Ron Stinson will officiate. Interment will follow to Crown Hill Cemetery.

Born on August 11, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late James and Eleanor Dewitt Ashcraft. Dianne dedicated herself to a long and fulfilling career, having worked for CVS Drug Store for 35 years before retiring. Dianne had a profound love for her family, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Dianne was passionate about sports. She particularly enjoyed watching football, supporting her beloved Georgia Bulldogs, and the Atlanta Braves. When she was able, she enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, and her dogs held a special place in her heart.

Dianne was preceded in death by her husband, Warren David Brookins, Sr.; her sister, Cindy Hill; and her step-son, Warren David Brookins, Jr.

Survivors include her daughters, Michelle Moody (David) of Albany, GA, and Susan Ruckman (Mike) of Americus, GA; her step-son, Timothy Brookins (L'Oreal) of Ozark, AL; grandchildren: Chasity Oleson (Gordon), Allison Hill (David), Brandon Carter (Madeline), Jordan Mizell (Clay), Joshua Moody, Michael Ruckman (Katy), Nathan Ruckman, Andy Ruckman (Lexi), Gary Ruckman (Whitney), Ethan Ruckman, Jaylynne Ruckman, and Makayla Ruckman, nineteen great-grandchildren, her siblings, Martha Mitchell, Eileen Poling, James Ashcraft (Pat), and Lynne Busby.

Visitation will be held on January 13, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
