Deborah “Debbie” Gerst Pickron, 72, of Lake Blackshear, formerly of Albany, passed away in peace on Monday September 15, 2025.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Mathews Funeral Home with a private interment to follow. Pastor Lee Cadden to officiate.

Born and raised in Albany, Debbie, graduated from Deerfield Windsor School, attended Valdosta State University where she was part of the first class of ZTA. She was then trained by the New York School of Interior Design.

Debbie grew up with a love of horses and showed Tennessee Walkers. She deeply loved her family and spending time on the lake. As the youngest of four children, she spent much of her adult life as an interior designer at their family business: Gerst Brothers Furniture

She is survived by her children, Marty Pickron (Christy), Lacey Cadden (Lee), grandchildren, Finley, Amos, Rowan, sister-in-law, Sue Gerst, brother-in-law Robert Campbell, and cousin Patty Gerst.

She is preceded in death by her parents Herman and Ethel, her siblings Jerry Gerst, Janet Robbins, Joyce Campbell and husband Sam Pickron.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathews.
