Dallas Russell "Rusty" Cannon

Dallas Russell Cannon, 95, of Leesburg, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 2, 2026. In accordance with Russell’s wishes, no memorial service will be held.

Russell was born on January 22, 1931, in Morgan, Calhoun County, Georgia, to the late Frank and Wilma Cannon. A self-employed businessman for most of his working life, Russell was known for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others.Russell was a devoted father and brother and a loyal friend to many. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time outdoors. Above all, his greatest joy was his family and the time they shared together.

Survivors include Marian M. Messer; his daughters, Teresa C. Stewart (Ronnie), Patricia C. Luke (Preston), and Linda C. Pipkin; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Davis; his son, William Paul Cannon; and his grandsons, Emery Randall “Dal” Spring and Russell “Russ” Paul Cannon.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Senior Helpers of South Georgia, Gentiva Hospice, and the staff of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care and support shown to Russell and his family.
