Dale was born on February 8, 1942 in Shellman, GA to Sharkey and Carol Milner. He grew up in Shellman and graduated from Shellman High School in 1960. The following year, he married the love of his life, Judith “Judy” Hill, beginning a marriage that would span more than six decades. Determined to further his education, Dale attended night classes and graduated from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus.

He went on to build a long and respected career with Georgia Power Company, steadily working his way up through the ranks. Most of his years were spent as a local manager in Butler and Dawson, where he was known for his leadership and dedication.

A devoted Christian, Dale faithfully served as a Deacon of The First Baptist Church of Dawson for many years. His faith in God and his deep devotion to Judy was evident to all who knew him. Together, they built a life centered on love, faith and family, serving as an example and inspiration to their community.

Dale’s love for his family extended to his three daughters, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He especially cherished time spent outdoors, hunting, and traveling with Judy. One of their favorite destinations was New Orleans, where they spent many years enjoying festivals, food, music, and art. Nothing brought him greater joy than seeing Judy happy or sharing in her creative pursuits.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Judith “Judy” Hill Milner of Albany, GA, his daughters, Cindy Carlson (Ricky) of Dawson, GA Debbie Booker of Leesburg, GA, and Dawn McLendon (James) of Terrell County, GA, a sister, Pat Brown of Shellman, GA; nine grandchildren, Jessie Watt, Eric Carlson, Emily Vansant, Hillary Jones, Wesley Bell, Raleigh Carlson, Ivy Booker, Gracen Booker and Reese Bell; and six great-grandchildren.
