Conrad Francis Dauphinais, Sr.

Conrad Francis Dauphinais, Sr. (HM1, USN Retired), 87, of Albany, GA, died Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 10:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Raymond Levreault will officiate.  Interment will follow at 2:00 pm in Andersonville National Cemetery with Military Honors.

Mr. Dauphinais was born on May 21, 1934 in Paterson, NJ to Raymond and Josephine Dauphinais.  He graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic Church High School and joined the United States Navy.  Mr. Dauphinais served for twenty years with tours in Korea and Vietnam where he received numerous Medals including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star (Combat “V”), Navy Unit Commendation (1 Bronze Star and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry).

After his retirement, Mr. Dauphinais was employed with Proctor and Gamble for many years and retired as a Juvenile Probation Office with the State of Georgia.  He was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, The VFW Post # 1285 and he enjoyed reading books, shooting pool and collecting guns. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Dauphinais, and his sons, Steve Dauphinais and David Fica.

Survivors include his children, Cathy (Mark) Horne of Albany, GA, Conrad F. (Gayle) Dauphinais, Jr. of Creedmoor, NC, and Raymond (Maria) Dauphinais of Hurst, TX, nineteen grandchildren, and a plethora of great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home.
