Comalea Augusta Wingate

Comalea Augusta Wingate, 93, of Albany, GA, died November 15, 2019 at Wynfield Park Health and Rehabilitation Center.  A memorial service will be held at a later date at Cool Springs Cemetery in Faceville, GA.

Mrs.  Wingate was born on Feb. 18, 1926 to the late Lee and Coma Kilpatrick in Selma, AL.  She moved at a young age to Florida and grew up in Jacksonville.  Mrs. Wingate graduated Valedictorian from Andrew Jackson High School in 1944.  She was employed with Owens-Illinois, Inc. for many years, was a member of the Forest Park Church of Christ and moved to Albany, GA eleven years ago.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Leon Wingate, Sr. and a son Walter L. Wingate, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Comalea Rich of Albany, GA, a son, Dennis Rich of Phoenix, AZ and two grandchildren, Travis Wingate of Montreal, Canada and Lindsey McAllister of Vicksburg, MS.
