Christopher Mark Fordham, 31, of Jacksonville, Fl. died Jan. 15 2012 at his residence a victim of smoke inhalation due to a house fire. A memorial service will be held Sat. Jan 21, at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. A private interment will follow at Leesburg Cemetery in his family lot.

Born in Snellville, Ga. Aug 27, 1980 Christopher lived in Albany, Ga. most of his life. He loved fishing, hunting and always enjoyed the outdoors. He attended Deerfield Windsor School, Albany, Ga. and the University of Georgia.

Christopher's passion for baseball began with Dixie Youth Baseball at the age of five and continued into his college years. He was selected as a Dixie All Star for six straight years and his All Star teams won five state championships in a row, a Dixie Youth Baseball record. His high school baseball career was also outstanding. He was picked for All Region and All State teams several years and was the winning pitcher during the championship game of the 1998 State GISA Class AAA tournament. He was selected for the ALL CLASSIFICATION SOUTH GEORGIA ALL STAR TEAM as both a pitcher and an infielder. He was recognized as a national talent and was invited to play two summers with The Ohio Warhawks, a traveling team of outstanding high school baseball players from all over the US. He was installed in The Ohio Warhawks Hall Of Fame. The University of Georgia recognized him as an outstanding player and awarded him an athletic scholarship for baseball. Christopher excelled in many sports including swimming, basketball, track and triathlon racing. He will be remembered for his wit, his engaging personality and his ability to "never meet a stranger" as well as his athletic ability and accomplishments.

Survivors include his very much loved daughter Emma Catherine Fordham of Jasper, Fl., his parents Ernest and Joan Fordham, a sister Meredith, and her husband Stephan Hughes all of Jacksonville, Fl.
Christopher impacted the lives of everyone he met. He will be loved and remembered by all who knew him.

A trust fund for his daughter, Emma, has been established and the family requests that in lieu of flowers his friends contribute to her future.
