Christopher Stuart Dervan

Christopher Stuart Dervan, 63, of Lee County, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. A visitation will follow the memorial service.

Chris was born on April 7, 1963, in Albany, Georgia, to the late James “Jimmie” William Dervan, Sr. and Joyce Smith Dervan. He worked as a welder at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, GA.

Chris was a man who enjoyed life and loved staying busy. He had a passion for fast cars and especially enjoyed working on them. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and could often be found helping friends and others whenever they needed his knowledge or skills. In recent years, Chris discovered a love for flying and enjoyed spending time in a hobby plane. He also loved the water, especially deep-sea fishing, jet skiing, and water skiing.

Survivors include his son, Christopher Dervan (Caroline) of Smyrna, Georgia; grandson, Rome Dervan; mother of his child, Jill Miller Dervan of Leesburg; brother, Courtney Dervan of Albany; niece, Brittany Turner; nephew, Darren George; and Tami Handley, who remained a dear friend.

In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmie Dervan, Jr.
