Christine S. Alligood

Christine S. Alligood, 92, of Albany, GA died Thursday, April 25, 2012 at Unihealth Magnolia Manor South in Moultrie, GA. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Sunset Cemetery, Meigs, GA. Rev. John Spencer will officiate. Mrs. Alligood's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Alligood was born September 18, 1919 in Mitchell County to the late John Ed Smith and Mary Elizabeth Stewart Smith. She was a retiree of the Dougherty County Tax Department and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Alligood was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, J.D. Alligood, two sisters, Mary Powe and Bobbie Stallings, and three brothers, James Smith, Coy Smith and O'Neal Smith.

Survivors include three daughters, LaLa (Howard) Tucker of Moultrie, GA, Elaine (Reginald) Pye of Rex, GA and Jackie Guido of Albany, GA, eight grandchildren, Tom Tucker and Chris Tucker both of Fernandina, FL, Diane (Steve) Tucker of Gainsville, GA, Beth Pye of Barnesville, GA, Kip Pye and Joel Pye both of Atlanta, GA, Ann Marie (Brian) Boyd and Jeff Guido all of Albany, GA, two great-grandchildren, Ella Tucker of Gainesville, GA and Scott Watson of Minot AFB, ND, two sisters, Peggy (Dick) Carson of Broken Arrow, OK and Gwen Swilley of Catoosa, OK. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her friends at the Sowega Council of Aging, site one.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
