Charlotte Hammock Bair

Charlotte Susan Hammock Bair, 79, of Albany, GA, passed away June 29, 2026 at Pruitt Healthcare in Sylvester, GA. Memorial services will be held Monday, July 6, 2026 at 5:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Barnhardt will officiate. Interment will be held in Andersonville National Cemetery at a later date.

Charlotte was born in Albany, GA on May 29, 1947 to the late Sam and Carlene Hammock. She was raised in Albany and graduated from Albany High School in 1965. Except for the five years living in Minnesota, she had lived here all of her life. Charlotte met her future husband, James Bair in March 1967 while at the A&W Root Beer Stand and they married in November 1967.

Charlotte was employed with Piggly Wiggly from 1966 until 2009. She was a member of The Pointe and loved being with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charlotte also liked playing cards, yardwork, baking and cooking.

Survivors include her children, Robbie Bair (Debbie) of Moultrie, GA and Debi Strawder (Kristopher) of Sylvester, GA, her grandchildren, Daulton Luttrell (Marley) Leesburg, GA, Daniel Burke of Elko, GA, Jonathan Luttrell of Albany, GA and Blake Burke of Byron, GA, her great-grandchildren, Atreus “Trey” Luttrell and Hunter Burke, a brother, Pete Hammock (Kay McDonald) of Putney, GA and a sister, Elaine Myers of Marianna, FL.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service on July 6, 2026, at Mathews Funeral Home.
