Charles E. Clayton

Charles Edward Clayton, 78, of Albany, GA died Monday, November 14, 2022 at Regency Hospital in Macon, GA. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Big Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery, 1753 Beeline Road, Coolidge, GA 31738. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.

Mr. Clayton was born on May 6, 1944 in Rochester, PA to William E. and Erdis Clayton. His family moved to Albany, GA when he was in his teens and he graduated from Albany High School in 1962.

Mr. Clayton joined the U.S. Air Force and served during Vietnam.  He worked for twenty-six years for Merck Pharmaceuticals as a utility operator. Mr. Clayton loved reading the Bible and watching the Atlanta Braves play. He enjoyed Gospel music, movies and all things related to aircraft. Mr. Clayton loved being with his family. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Edward Clayton, and his sister, Sandra Carver.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Clayton of Albany, GA, his sons, Michael Clayton of Albany, GA and Phillip Clayton of Thomasville, GA, and his sister, Lois Chavers of Albany, GA.
