Charles "Chuck" Woodruff

Chuck Woodruff of Dawson, GA, age 78, passed away peacefully at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital on February 3, 2026, surrounded by immediate family members.

His memorial service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Mathews Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.

Originally from Vienna, Georgia, Chuck was a popular and well-respected pharmacist in Albany for many years. In 1970, he received a Master of Pharmacy Degree from the Southern School of Pharmacy in Atlanta (now the Mercer University College of Pharmacy). He was a member of the professional fraternity Phi Delta Chi. Over the following decades, he held positions at multiple independent pharmacies, two of which he owned. He spent the last 25 years at Kmart Pharmacy in Albany, GA as the pharmacy manager until his retirement in 2017.

In his early years he was involved in High School sports having played Baseball, Football, and was on the State Championship Basketball team. He was very proud of this accomplishment and kept in touch with the coach and his family along with team members.

While his oldest son Scott was attending Valdosta State University, he asked him to accept an Alumni Initiate bid from the Pi Kappa Phi in 1992. His second son Todd also joined the same fraternity in 1995. He always said he was proud to be a Brother and a Father to his two boys.

He was a dedicated University of Georgia Football Fan and a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Dawson, GA.

Chuck is survived by his wife Ann Woodruff of Dawson, Ga; his three sons: Scott Woodruff, Todd Woodruff, and Daniel Brown; his two daughters Kim and Shana Brown; 3 Daughter in Laws Laurie Woodruff, Wendy Woodruff, and Michelle Brown; and eight grandchildren Taylar, Keagan, Wyatt, Allie, Pierson, Austin, Lainey, and Caroline.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lammie Asbury Woodruff and Virginia Calhoun Woodruff as well as his brother Larry Asbury Woodruff.
