Cecilia Anne Parker

Cecilia Anne Hamilton Parker, born March 14, 1933, went on to heaven on September 3, 2025. 

She was born in Inverness, Alabama to a family of educators, and followed in that vocation, teaching for many years in Albany, Georgia public schools. She entered college at the age of 16, at Troy State in Alabama, and went on to earn a Master's degree at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. She will be missed by church friends at First Baptist, Albany, and dear companions in ADK, PEO, and Albany Women's Club. Her long life was filled with good churches, old hymns, gardening and wonderful trips in the U.S. and abroad.

She was preceded in death by sons Henry and Stephen Parker. 

She is survived by her brother, John Hamilton; her son, Kenneth and his family including spouse Larisa, son James, and daughter Susannah; her grandson Matthew Parker and great grandchild, Penelope. Anne showed much strength of character, commitment to family, physical endurance, generosity, and hope in Jesus Christ.

We will honor her with a service at Mathews Funeral Home on Saturday, September 13, at 11 a.m., with informal visitation before and after. She will be interred in the family plot in Collirene, Alabama at a future date.
