Carolyn Childress Allen

Carolyn Childress Allen, 79, of Dawson, died Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at her residence. 

Her memorial will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Dawson United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends following the service. 

Born in Shellman, Carolyn grew up in Dawson where she spent most of her life.  She was a home maker and attended Dawson United Methodist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas M. “Mac” Allen, MD, her parents Thomas Walter. and Marilou Jones Childress and her brother Tommy Childress. 

Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Minix, Leesburg, son, Tom Allen (Ashley), Ashville, NC, grandchildren, Scarlet Minix and Clayton Minix, both of Leesburg, Sam Allen, Ashville, NC, sister in law Betty Childress, Dawson, nephews Jason (Paige) Childress, Dawson and Neal Childress (Kristi), Leesburg.
