Carol Revell Wildes

Carol Revell Wildes, 82, of Albany, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at her residence. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Porterfield Methodist Church. Reverend Chuck Knight will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the church parlor.

Carol was born in Albany, Georgia, on March 28, 1944, to the late Arthur W. and Laura Lane Revell. She was a graduate of Albany High School and devoted her life to being a homemaker and, above all, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful member of Porterfield Methodist Church.

Carol found great joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. She loved growing flowers and tending to her flower beds, decorating her home for each season, and had a special appreciation for antiques. She had a remarkable eye for beauty and a natural creativity that allowed her to turn even the simplest things into something beautiful.

Carol's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Fiercely loyal and protective, she made sure that if you were hers, you always knew she had your back. She encouraged her children and grandchildren to reach for the very best, and took great pride in watching them grow into the people they were meant to be. Her love, kindness, and devotion to her family will be remembered and carried on through the many lives she touched.

Carol also had a special tenderness for babies, children, and animals. Affectionately known as the “baby whisperer,” she had a gift for making others feel cared for and loved. She welcomed many animals into her home over the years and had a particular soft spot for those who needed a little extra care. She will be remembered for her quick wit, feisty spirit, wonderful sense of style, and quiet sense of humor, as well as for the warmth and love she brought to the lives of those around her.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Lonnie “Buddy” Wildes of Albany, Georgia; her children, Laura Rogers (Mark) of Hahira, Georgia, Meredith Spielman (Randy) of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Landon Wildes (Brandy) of Dothan, Alabama; her grandchildren, Mallory Rogers, Carter Spielman, Claire Spielman, Colt Wildes, and Charlie Lane Wildes; her sister, Becky Howard of Dothan, Alabama, and sister-in-law, Linda Powell of Quitman, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews; her beloved cat, Baby; and her caregivers, Patti Stam and Jackie Hope.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur W. and Laura Lane Revell; her stepmother, Sara Revell; and her beloved granddaughter, Madeline Anne Wildes.
