Bruce Eric Kubler passed away in Albany, Georgia on September 3, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held at Mathews Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Visitation will follow the service.
Bruce Eric Kubler was born to Elaine Vivienne Kubler and Howard Eugene Kubler on June 16, 1956 as the second eldest of four children. He attended Goldendale High School where he was a member of the basketball team, baseball team, football team, swim team, and band. In 1975 and attended Linfield College, and it was there he met his life partner and wife, Janine Sarti. The two married on December 22, 1979.
Bruce, Janine, and Eric lived in several different states in the US and he was quick to make friends everywhere they lived Bruce believed there were only two kinds of people in the world, friends he knew, and friends he hadn’t yet met. He was instrumental in hosting nine exchange students throughout the years and he kept in touch with all of them. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and became a land owning Laird of Scotland. He was a man of the world and his wisdom and kindness enhanced the lives of all who knew him. When their son Eric was born, Bruce chose to retire and devote himself fully to being a stay-at-home father. He was a devoted husband, father, and caretaker, never shy about expressing how proud he was of his family. Bruce had a gift for connection: he often reached out to long-lost classmates and relatives, always finding ways to bring people together. He loved supporting his alma mater and rarely missed a Linfield football game on Sundays. Deeply rooted in his community, he was quick to volunteer, champion local sports teams, and lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. Known for his many stories and memorable saying such “There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch” and “God only made a few perfect heads; the rest he had to cover with hair.” Bruce will be remembered at his best: a one-of-a-kind man of great character, cheer, and a golden heart. His kindness and generosity was a beacon of hope to all who knew him. He will never be forgotten.“Death is nothing at all . I have only slipped away into the next room . I am I and you are you .Whatever we were to each other .That we still areI am but waiting for you. For an interval. Somewhere. Very near. Just around the corner."
Bruce is survived by his wife Janine Sarti of Albany, Georgia; his son Eric Kubler(Jordyn) of Los Angeles, California; his three siblings: Kathy Berg(Duane) of Goldendale, Washington, Jeff Kubler(Margaret) of Corvallis, Oregon, and Mary Ellen Picha(Russ) of Puyallup, Washington; 12 nieces and nephews, and 9 grand nieces and nephews
