Billie Jean Knight

Billie Jean Barfield Knight, 72, of Albany, GA died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Willson Hospice House. The funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Chuck Smith and Rev. Melvin Slappy will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Albany, GA, Mrs. Knight had resided in Albany, GA most of her life. She was a Supply Clerk at the Marine Corps Logistics Base and was a member of Kinchafoonee Baptist Church. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by a brother, Elton Barfield and two sisters, Elise Connell and Thelma Salter.

Survivors include her husband, June Knight of Albany, GA, three daughters, Teresa Purvis and her husband, Wayne, Deloris Underwood and her husband, Don all of Albany, GA and Donna Garcia and her husband, Chris of Barstow, CA, a sister, Lois Witczak and her husband (Al) of Lee County, GA, nine grandchildren, Brenda Maddox, David Ellis, Kristy and Jeremy Heard, Paul and Diane Golden, Terry Norris, Scott and Heather Golden, Amanda Rusk, Ashley and Stephen Hall and Cody Kalawaia and eighteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
