Betty Sue Brown Mathis

Betty Sue Brown Mathis of Albany, GA., died Friday, November 7, 2025 at her residence. A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

Betty was born in Briceville, TN., to the late Frank and Martha Brown. She loved animals and caring for feral cats. Betty was a caring person and the best mother anyone could ask for.

She was a hard worker and stayed busy at various jobs including: the SOWEGA Council on Aging where she worked and retired after forty years of service, she worked at the James H. Gray Senior Center for ten years, the R.S. Boney Senior Center for twenty-two years and worked part time at Putt Putt Golf for sixteen years.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Bubby Brown, Billy Brown, Mary Holley, Frances Brown and Ducky Godwin.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Denise Mathis, a sister Nancy Ziemicki, a cat Pearl and two grand dogs Minnie Pearl and Buck Owens.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Phoebe Hospice and nurses Barbara and Kenya.
