Beatrice M. “Bea” Knight, 97, of Albany, GA, died Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Willson Hospice House surrounded by her family.  Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Dr. William E. “Butch” Knight will officiate.  Her grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Knight was born on April 18, 1924 in Worth County, GA to George Herman and Maggie Pearl Mitchell.  Her family moved to Albany, GA in 1940 and she graduated from Albany High School.  Mrs. Knight married James E. “Jimmy” Knight in 1942 and raised her family and helped operated their family business, J.E Knight Electric until she retired in 2002.

Mrs. Knight had been a member of First Baptist Church of Albany for fifty five years.  She was a wonderful cook, loved gardening and fishing.  In addition to her parents and nine siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Knight.

Survivors include her children, Diane (Cecil) Fowler and Trisha (Tommy) Hall all of Albany, GA and Don (Shelia) Knight of Lake Blackshear, GA, her only sister, Marjorie Sutton of Albany, GA, her grandchildren, Celia (Jimbo) Boykin of Jesup, GA, Mandy (Lawson) Swan of Alpharetta, GA, Brent Fowler of Leesburg, GA, Chris (Amber) Hall and Jason Hall all of Albany, GA and Chad (Ashley) Hall of Marietta, GA, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Mrs. Knight’s residence on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
