Barbara Annette Watson Wisener, 75, of Dawson, Georgia, passed away on September 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she cherished so deeply. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She shared 58 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Buster Wisener, and was a faithful and loyal partner throughout their life together. Her family was the center of her world, and she loved them fiercely and wholeheartedly.
Barbara was blessed with two children, her son, Jamie Wisener (Stephanie), and her daughter, Jill Wisener (Jamie Osborne). She was a proud grandmother to Mason Wisener (Rebecca), Devan Tindell, Bailey Tindell, Megan Wisener (Travis Gay), Jordyn Proctor, Brayden Proctor, Cody Lewis (Maggie), Cole Lewis (Sarah) and Jacob Osborne. She especially treasured the joy of being a great-grandmother to Barrett Wisener, Britt Wisener, Brighton Wisener and Bennett Gay. She is also survived by her brothers, Allen and Skeeter, and her sister, Jerri. Along with many nieces and nephews that she loved deeply. Barbara was truly one of a kind.
She was a spitfire who was never afraid to speak her mind. Feisty, strong-willed, and full of personality, she loved hard and stood firmly in what she believed. Those who knew her knew exactly where they stood with her, but they also knew how deeply she cared. Beneath that fiery spirit was a woman whose love for her family knew no bounds. She found happiness in the simple things in life.
Barbara loved to fish, spend time outdoors, and sit quietly watching her birds. Some of her favorite moments were spent sitting on the porch with her sister, talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. She appreciated the beauty of an ordinary day and the comfort of being surrounded by the people she loved.
Barbara’s strong spirit, quick wit, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed. Her family will remember her for the love she gave so freely, the strength she carried throughout her life, and the unmistakable spark that made Barbara simply Barbara. Her memory will live on in the countless stories, traditions, laughter, and love she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
