Barbara Phelps

Barbara Shoffner Phelps, 81, of Lee County, GA, died February 28, 2023 at her residence.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Phelps was born in Blytheville, AR on November 20, 1941 to Oliver and Hester Shoffner.  Her late husband, Bill Phelps was in the Military and after his retirement they moved from Warner Robins to Albany in 1976 and then to Lee County in 1979.  For many years, Mrs. Phelps was the owner of  Custom Cleaning Service and enjoyed baking, collecting and clipping coupons.  She attended Hope City United.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phelps was preceded in death by her husband, William Carl “Bill” Phelps, two brothers, Danny Shoffner and Mickey Shoffner and a step-son, Jim Phelps.

Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Reynolds of Lee County, GA, her grandchildren, Cory (Kearson) Reynolds, Cassie (Matthew) Cothren and Dalton (Haley) Reynolds all of Lee County, GA and her great-grandchildren, Aubree Reynolds, Zoie Brooks, Brilee Goforth, Mckynlee Reynolds, William Reynolds, Daisy Reynolds, Brayson Cothren and Joshua Cothren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
