Barbara Taylor Harlan

Barbara Taylor Harlan, 78, of 278 Northampton Road, Leesburg, GA, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at her residence with her family at her side. A viewing and visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Mrs. Harlan's residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, May 23, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at Andersonville National Cemetery. Will Archibald, Chaplain will officiate at both services.

A native of Columbus, GA, Mrs. Harlan graduated from Baker High School in 1950 and was employed at Fort Benning before moving to Albany, GA in 1972. She moved to Lee County, GA in 1977 and retired from the Albany Marine Corps Logistic Base in 1993. She was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church and the widow of John B. Harlan who died in 1998.

Survivors include a son and his wife, John and Pamela Harlan of Cusetta, GA, a daughter and her husband, Stacy and David Ortiz of Lee County, GA, three sisters, Margaret Taylor Scott of Mandeville, LA, Wanda Sue Broussard of Auburn, AL, Jane Taylor Ellwanger of Austin, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
