Barbara Carol Fritz Howell

Barbara Carol Fritz Howell, 66, of Albany, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Willson Hospice House.

Born on June 3, 1960, in Albany, Georgia, Carol was the daughter of James Fritz and Barbara Ann Smith Fritz. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing and dedicated a number of years of her life to working in the home health care profession, where she compassionately cared for others and made a lasting difference in the lives of her patients and their families.

Carol had a heart for animals and was a devoted animal lover throughout her life. She was an avid University of Georgia Bulldogs fan who enjoyed cheering on her team every football season. Above all, she treasured her family, especially her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy and were among her greatest blessings. Carol also found happiness in music, relaxing at the beach, and spending time in the beauty of the mountains.

She is survived by her daughter, Ivey Bradley (Hope); her son, Brian Norton; and her beloved grandchildren, Elijah Spears and Gabriel Spears.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, James C. "Jimbo" Fritz.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
