Barbra Ann Cotton,79, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at her residence. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. George S. Johnson and Pastor Jonathan LaBarge will officiate.
Barbra was born on September 22, 1943 in Pensacola, FL to Roy and Ruby Langford. While in High School, she met Jack Cotton and they married when she was 16 years old. Barbra received her Beautician License and had worked as a Beautician for over fifty-eight years.
Barbra and her growing family moved to Albany, GA in 1967 where her husband, Jack opened his electrical contracting company. Barbra owned the Downtown Beauty Salon before opening Barbra’s Cosmotique in 1971 which she owned and operated until her retirement in 2019.
Barbra was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church, The Ladies of Nasah at Hasan Shrine Center and The Loyal Order of the Moose # 1285. Barbra was very active in the activities of Hasan Shrine Center and Shriners Hospital for Children in Tampa, FL.
She was preceded in death by husband, Jack D. Cotton, her brother, Donnie Vaughn, and her sister Vivian Robbins.
Survivors include her children, Chiree (Mark) Gordon, Jackie Cotton, Kevin (Tammy) Cotton all of Lee County, GA, her grandchildren, Allen (Maria) Gordon and Lindsey (Keith) Walker all of Columbus, GA, Christa Cotton (Brian) of New Orleans, LA, Corey (Francie) Cotton of Lee County, GA, Kylie (Harrison) Gantt of Thomasville, GA and Jack Cotton, III of Terrell County, GA and her great-grandchildren, Olivia Gordon, Tessa Gordon, Flora Bitner and Henry Cotton, her siblings, Rita Rose, Ronnie Vaughn, and Connie Floyd all of Pensacola, FL.
The family will receive friends following the service at Crown Hill Cemetery.
