Arthur Warren Giles

Arthur Warren Giles, 88, of Albany, GA passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025. 

His funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Mathews Funeral Home with interment to follow in Floral Memory Gardens. Rev. Charles Jones will officiate. 

Warren graduated from Sylvester High School where he was the starting basketball center for four years. He met his wife of 69 years, Charlene, during a basketball game against a rival county. They married at the ages of 17 and 18, and had two children. Warren joined the National Guard in 1955 and served for three years. He provided for his young family as a farmer before becoming an electrician in 1963, later obtaining his Master Electrician license in 1969. He spent his days working in power plants until he became Business Manager for IBEW 1531 in 1984. He enjoyed spending his time with family, especially when it included eating fried catfish and dessert. Warren was known for his gentle soul and kind voice of wisdom. His moral compass always pointed North, without fail.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Warren Giles and Eulaine Campbell Giles, a brother, Wayne “Buddy” Giles (Jane) and sister, Patricia “Patsy” Giles Fender (Tommie).

Survivors include his wife, Charlene H. Giles, Albany, GA, daughter, Elaine Giles Fannin, Lee Co., GA, son, Alan Warren Giles (Karen), Bainbridge, GA, sisters, Faye Carey (Dwight), The Villages, FL, Alice Wilson (Wendell), Fruithurst, AL, granddaughter, Sarah Giles (Chris Glisson), Cairo, GA .

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
