Annie Maude Cato Roland of Albany, GA passed away peacefully in her sleep June 9, 2011 at her residence. She was the devoted wife and widow of George Leslie Roland. She loved & nourished her family who all preceded her in death and according to their birth order: Agnes Cato Hancock, Alton Cato, Jesse Cato, Jewell Cato Collins and her parents, Ed & Maude Cato.

Annie (or her family nickname, Mutt) was born December 6, 1916 in Colquitt County, GA. She was raised in Worth County until the age of 12 when she moved with her family to Albany, GA. She graduated from Albany High School in 1934 and moved to Lee County, GA in the fifties and returned to Albany in 1974. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Albany for 52 years and taught Sunday School for 13 years.

Mutt is survived by her daughter, Connie Roland Herndon (Phillip) of Nashville, GA, two grandsons, Jon (Ellen) Herndon of Baltimore, MD and Brian (Christina) Herndon of Hahira, GA, three great-grandchildren, Hailey Herndon and Michael Herndon, Jr., both of Hahira, GA and Alex Herndon of Baltimore, MD, nieces, Judy Collins Hayes, Laverne Fussell Futch (Jack), Patricia Larson Bond, Cathy Cato King and Catherine Lawrey and nephews, Al Cato and Charles Fussell and great-nieces and nephews, Aurelia Futch Morris, Donna Fussell Rouse, Leslie Hayes Hartog, Kelly Cato Pearson, Amy King Anderson, Leslie Bond, Lee Hayes, Casey Cato, Chris King, Hugh Futch (Rhonda), Douglas Bond, Jr. and Chris Bond.

The visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.

The graveside funeral service will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at Crown Hill Cemetery.
