Ann C Thompson

Ann Coulon Thompson, 83, of Sasser, GA, died May 20, 2024 at her farm.  Services for Mrs. Thompson will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, June 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm.  Rev. Galen Mirate will officiate. 
 

Ann was born in Atlanta, GA on December 17, 1940 to Alger Arthur and Helen Willard Coulon.  She attended Atlanta Public Schools, graduating from Northside High School and received her BA Degree from Newcome College at Tulane University. 

Upon graduation from Tulane, she moved to Washington, DC and worked at the US State Department where she met Pete, her future husband.  They married in Atlanta and were to celebrate their 60^th Anniversary in June.

An avid horseperson for over 40 years, she enjoyed breeding, training, and showing hunter-jumper horses in Tennessee and at her farm in Sasser.  Ann attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and for many years, she was a member of the Charity League of Albany and served as President.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Coulon.

Survivors include her husband, Peter A. “Pete” Thompson of Sasser, GA, her two sons, Christopher (Nicole) Thompson of Denver, CO and Matthew (Sheila) Thompson of Jacksonville, FL and three grandchildren, Amanda Thompson, Lucas Thompson and Courtney Thompson.  

The family would Like to express their appreciation to Phoebe Hospice for their help.  A very special thanks to her caregivers, Alfreda Shelton, Shumonica Green, and Natalie Clark, who gave so much to make Ann feel better.  Also, to the Terrell County EMS and Terrell County Fire Department for their help when needed.
