Ann Goins Everett, 87, of Dacula, GA, formerly of Albany, GA, died July 20, 2022 at Tender Personal Care Home, Lawrenceville, GA. Private graveside services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Thundering Springs Cemetery in Lee County, GA. Rev. Calvin King will officiate.
Mrs. Everett was born on February 8, 1935 to Jack and Edwina Goins in Midway, AL. She moved to Albany, GA in 1969, then to Lee County, GA in 1971 and back to Albany in 1994. She and Albert Everett married in 1973. Mrs. Everett was employed as a Terminal Manager with RC Motor Lines and Eastern Motor Lines, among others. In her later career, she was employed with Hallmark Cards and American Greeting Cards working the card accounts and was known as “The Card Lady”. Mrs. Everett was a longtime member of Thundering Springs Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years to the senior ladies class, delivered flowers to the sick in hospitals, wrote hundreds of cards with get well and encouragement to family, friends, and others in the community. She also was the loving caregiver to her parents, husband, aunt and uncle while working hours tending to other elderly patients. She taught Bible lessons at the Nursing Home through a Nursing Ministry with 4 generations in attendance. She was a truly devoted Christian with such loving care as a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Most of all she was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in hard times as well as good times.
Having Alzheimers for many years even to the end when she no longer knew others, she still knew the Name of Jesus. Her favorite hymns were "Face to Face (with Christ my Savior)" and "God Will Take Care of You". She kept her Bible close to her at all times even though the pages were worn from her constant reading. Her love for God's Word is a testimony of her love for Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Farrell Everett of 34 loving years.
Survivors include her children; Don Garner, Marsha (Roland) Thacker of Pine Mountain, GA, Wanda (Rusty) Cook of Dacula, GA; her brother Danny (Debbie) Goins of Orange Beach, AL; her grandchildren Zack (Brittany) Cook, Blake (Kati) Cook, Shana (Wade) Bartlett, Hannah (Stephen) Goin; her great grandchildren Asher, Celia, Amos, Vann, Anders, Asa Cook, Sydnie and Kade Bartlett.
