Allen "Doug" Douglas Martin

Allen “Doug” Douglas Martin, 65, of Lee County, Georgia, passed away March 30, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 10:00 Am at Parrott City Cemetery, Parrott Georgia. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate. 

Doug was born on September 16, 1958, in Port St. Joe Florida to the late Henry Walter and Becky Allen Martin. He completed college and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.

He found solace in singing with the choir at Sherwood Baptist Church, sharing his voice with the congregation and uplifting spirits through song. And he was involved with numerous church activities with Sherwood.  Doug had many career workplaces throughout his life, but in his later years he worked for Steak n Shake as their cook. He also was an avid Star Trek fan and was a member of a Starship crew. Doug began to learn how to speak the language of Klingon. 

He’s preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sharon Annette Martin. 

He is survived by four brothers: James Henry Martin (Deborah) John David Martin (Brooke), George Andrew Martin and William Walter Martin (Laura), as well as nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
