Date of Birth: | April 3, 1935 | | Date of Death: | July 27, 2010 | | Obituary: | The funeral service of James Edward Tucker, Sr., 75, of Mitchell County, GA who died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at his residence, will be conducted Friday, July 30, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Minister Faron W. Hamner will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.
A native of Bridgeboro, GA, Mr. Tucker had resided in Albany, GA before moving to Mitchell County sixteen years ago. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Tucker.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Wells Tucker, Mitchell County, GA, four sons, James E. Tucker, Jr. Mitchell County, GA, Glenn Terry Tucker (Sherry), Albany, GA, Mark Allan Tucker (Donna), Leesburg, GA, Travis Tucker, Albany, GA, two daughters, Christine Montgomery (Paul), Norfolk, VA, Shelia Tucker Hardy (Clay) Albany, GA, fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchild and his companion, Nash.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
