Runge, 92, Albany, GA, formerly of St. Petersburg, FL who died Monday, April 12, 2010 at his residence, will be conducted Monday, April 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Runge was a native of Madison, WI and had resided in Albany for the past two years, having moved here from St. Petersburg, FL. He was the Library Director for the City of St. Petersburg and was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army, serving in World War II. He was a Protestant and was preceded in death by his parents, Charles D. Runge and Josephine Niebur Runge, a son, Robert Roy Runge and a brother, Roland Runge. Survivors include his wife, Ethelyn Runge, a daughter, Willa Dee Robbins and a son and his wife, Richard and Jane Runge all of Albany, GA, one granddaughter, Jennifer Bekkers and her husband, Jos and a grandson, Jonathan Runge, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Lavonia Brandt of MA and Mildred Hatch of El Paso, TX, Those desiring may make donations to Living The Legacy, c/o Byne Memorial Baptist Church, 2832 Ledo Road, Albany, GA 31707.
