| Obituary: | Carl Raymond (Ray) Carte’, Jr., 60, of Albany, GA died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Albany Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at The First United Methodist Church of Albany. Rev. Carrie Austin will officiate. A native of Sendai, Japan, Mr. Carte’ had resided in Albany for the last fifty years. He was a 1968 graduate of Albany High School, attended Darton College, Georgia State University and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ray was a Special Olympics coordinator with the Albany Advocacy Resource Center, a member of First United Methodist Church of Albany and Dougherty Leadership. Survivors include by his wife, Sarah Williams Carte’ of Albany, GA, a daughter, Kristi and her husband, Dr. Mike Randle of Nacogdoches, TX, a son Chad Carte’ of Virginia Beach, VA, a step-daughter, Lynn Highsmith Barnett and her husband, Justin of Cumming, GA, three grandchildren, Damen Carte’ of Nacogdoches, TX, Jaxen Barnett and Ashlyn Barnett both of Cumming, GA and the mother of his children, Debbie Naylor Dollar. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.
