| Obituary: | Janis H. Thompson, 66, of Macon, GA formerly of Albany, GA, died July 18, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jennifer Sherling will officiate. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. A native of Cairo, GA, Mrs. Thompson had resided in Macon, GA for the past two months, moving from Albany, GA. She was a self employed Hairdresser, a member of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church and enjoyed painting at the Sowega Council On Aging. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, James Stanley Thompson, her parents, Alvie Lee Harrell and Grace Agnes Lee Harrell and a brother, Larry Harrell. Survivors include a son, Rhett Thompson of Macon, GA, a daughter and her husband, Jana and Hunter Hodges of Albany, GA, two sisters, Wynell Mitchell and Luvania Lackey both of Cairo, GA, four grandchildren, Anna Thompson, Alex Thompson, Holly Hodges and Hunter Hodges, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
