Ralph D. Driggers, Sr., 85 of 214 Miller Road, Leesburg, GA, died July 17, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery in Tift County. A native of TyTy, GA, born to the late Lawrence and Sissy Driggers, he moved to Albany, GA in 1961 and had resided in Lee County, GA since 1996. Mr. Driggers was a retired contractor and the former owner of R.D.’s Home Improvements.
Mr. Driggers was also the former overseer of Oakland Plantation and had been employed with Cargill, Alcon, LRA and Dougherty County. He was a member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church. Mr. Driggers loved spending time with his family, camping, fishing and hunting and planting his garden. He was known for his parched and boiled peanuts.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette G. Driggers of Lee County, GA, five daughters, Joy Burnett and her husband, Rick of Macon, GA, Patricia Collins of Lee County, GA, Sylvia Willis and her husband, Frank of Brunswick, GA, Cheryl Driggers of Steamboat Springs, CO, Teresa Napolitano of Lee County, GA, and one son, Danny Driggers of Lee County, GA, nine grandchildren, John Collins, Rachael Burke, Richard Burnett, Michelle Swindall, Amber Leskis, Dustyn Driggers, Dean Napolitano and David Napolitano and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Patricia Diane Driggers and his granddaughter, Laura Diana Collins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
