The funeral service for Mary Boring Jenkins, 93, of Albany, who died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Hendersonville Medical Center, in Hendersonville, TN, will be conducted Monday, July 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Dr. William "Biff" Coker will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Wheeling, WV, Mrs. Jenkins had lived in Albany since 2000, moving from Silver Springs, MD. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, enjoyed sewing for babies through the church, was an avid reader and loved her jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Mary was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Elsworth Jenkins and her parents, George and Erma Boring.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Fulmer and her husband, Neal, of Albany, a son, Delbert "Del" E. Jenkins, Jr., and his wife, Katrina, of Nashville, TN, a sister Peggy Hawkins of Clearwater, FL, six grandchildren, Tiffany Ott and her husband, Jody, of Knoxville, TN, Jennifer Hamilton and her husband, Eric, of Senoia, GA, Rebecca Kroph and her husband, Justin, of Hendersonville, TN and Elizabeth Probus and her husband, Roy, of Kansas City, MO, Karl Gumtow and his wife, Vicki, of Maryland and Robin Gilchrist and her husband, Dan, of Tennessee and eleven great grandchildren.
The family is at the residence of Susan and Neal Fulmer, 2402 E. Doublegate Dr, Albany, GA 31721.
The family will receive friends, Sunday from 3:00 PM until 5:00PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
