| Obituary: | The graveside funeral service of Margaret Lorene Butcher, 94, of Baconton, GA who died June 19, 2010 at Palmyra Medical Center, will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at the Leesburg Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. A native of Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada, Mrs. Butcher lived in Holly Hills, SC before moving to Lee County, GA in 1958. She was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church, the Missionary Society and the Lee County Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Butcher had lived in Baconton for twenty three years and was a homemaker and the widow of Frank Butcher. Survivors include four sons, Ken Butcher (Sue) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Bud Butcher of Senoia, GA, Allin Butcher (Shirley) of Dodge City, KS and Glen Butcher (Rhonda Hall) of Camilla, GA, a daughter, Estelle Varner (Frank) of Ridgeville, SC, a sister, Freeda Dynes of Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada, a brother, Louis Simmons of Aberdeen, MS, eleven grandchildren with one deceased and sixteen great-grandchildren and one deceased. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. today (Monday) at Mathews Funeral Home.
