| Obituary: | The funeral service for Jean Powell, 72, of Smithville, GA who died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Wallace Miller will officiate. Interment will follow in Notchaway Baptist Church Cemetery, Baker County, GA. A native of Langdale, AL, Mrs. Powell had resided in Smithville, GA since 1994, moving from Leesburg, GA. Along with her husband they were owners of Powell’s Super Market and was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Powell. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Mona and Donny Moss of Smithville, GA, Tina and Michael Jacques of Warner Robins, GA, five grandchildren, Matthew Moss, Scott Moss and Trent Moss, Claire Jacques and Cliffton Jacques, Three Great-grandchildren, Brantley Moss, Mallory Moss and Braden Moss. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
