| | Obituary: | Rev. Ernest B. Lewis, Jr., 82, of 3111 B Crepe Myrtle Court, Albany, GA, died June 11, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow 3:00 P.M. at Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Pitts, GA.
A native of Birmingham, AL, Rev. Lewis had resided in Albany since 1987, moving from Cordele, GA. He was a retired Minister, a member of Sherwood Baptist Church and was a Marine Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Rev. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Dunbar Lewis.
Survivors include two sons, Ernest B. (Terry) Lewis III of Albany, GA and Douglas Andrew Lewis of Savannah, GA, a daughter, Susan Barron of Lee County, GA and nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
