| Obituary: | Patricia A. (Patty) McDowell, 62, of 148 Leeland Ferrell Drive, Leesburg, GA, died June 9, 2010 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Albany. Dr. William E. (Butch) Knight, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. A native of Cairo, GA and a 1965 graduate of Cairo High School, Patty had lived in Lee County, GA since 1966. She was the former owner of Kiddie Land Nursery and managed Kinder Care for fifteen years. Since 1991 she was the office manager at DNS Consolidated, Inc and attended the First Baptist Church of Albany. Patty served as the first lady of Hasan Shriners in 2004, was a member of the Legionelles and was past president of the Ladies of Nasah. Survivors include her husband, Gene H. McDowell of Leesburg, GA, three sons and their wives, Mike and Trini McDowell of Mitchell County, GA and Jamie and Tami McDowell and Jerry and Amanda McDowell all of Leesburg, GA, her mother, Dot Perkins and a sister and her husband,, Sue and John Futch, all of Thomasville, eight grandchildren, Brett McDowell, Brendan McDowell, Bryce McDowell, Griffin McDowell, Fuller Vallandingham, Madelyn McDowell, Daniel McDowell and Hudson Vallandingham. She was preceded in death by her father, Don Perkins. The family will receive friends from 7:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. today (Thursday) at Mathews Funeral Home.
