The graveside funeral service of Charles Martin Faulk, Sr., 76, of Sasser, GA, who died Monday, May 31, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Leesburg Cemetery with full military honors. Dr. Ronald R. Baxley and Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.
A native of Abbeville AL, Mr. Faulk had resided in Sasser since 1985 moving from Albany, GA. He retired from the US Marine Corps after twenty years of service as communications chief. After his military service, Mr. Faulk was the canine handler for the Department of Corrections at Lee State Prison (Special Operations Department). He was a member of the American Legion Post # 30, VFW # 2785 and a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of fifty four years, Jeanette Kimbrell Faulk, a son, Charles M. (Chuck) Faulk, Jr. and his wife Traci, a daughter, Pamela Faulk West and her husband, Don all of Sasser, GA, two grandsons, Ryan West and his wife, Charlotte, Leesburg, GA, Whit Faulk, Sasser, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
