Obituary: | Ernest Ragan Kenney, 86, of Albany, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at his residence. His funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate. Interment will follow in the Morgan Methodist Church Cemetery. A native of Leary, GA, Mr. Kenney lived in Albany most of his life. He served in the US Army and was the owner and operator of Merry Acres Amoco and Kenney's Amoco here in Albany. He was a past member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 1285 and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lanier Kenney. Survivors include four daughters, Debbie Jones and her husband, Ken, of Leesburg, Gail Hart, Becky Lynch and her husband, John, and Marie Albrecht and her husband, Mark, all of Idaho, fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a nephew, Emmitt Kenney. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M at Mathews Funeral Home.
