Date of Birth: | September 4, 1923 | | Date of Death: | May 19, 2010 | | Obituary: | The graveside funeral service of Mary Ruth Rouse, 86, of Albany, who died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Riverside Cemetery. Dr. Charlie A. Rouse, Jr. and Ross Powell will officiate. A native of Putney, GA, Mrs. Rouse had resided in Albany, GA since 1966, moving from East Point, GA. She was a Homemaker, a member of Sherwood Baptist Church and a member of the Vota Vita Sunday School Class. Mrs. Rouse was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Agnew Rouse, Sr. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Rodney “Jaxon Riley” and Nancy Rouse, Dr. Charlie A. Rouse Jr. “The Medicine Man” and Janice Rouse all of Albany, GA, a daughter and her husband, Mary Ann and Gary Brand of Tallahassee, FL, a brother, Lamar Christopher of Warner Robins, GA, a sister, Inez Durden of Sylvester, GA, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, May 21, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. The family is at their residence at 2020 Acker Drive, Albany, GA 31707.
