| Obituary: | The graveside funeral service of Claude Julian Massey of Albany, who died Saturday May 15, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be conducted Tuesday May 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Boney Bluff Cemetery, Echols Co., GA. Pastor Raymon Gabbard will officiate.
A native of Quitman, GA., Mr. Massey had resided in Albany for the past seventeen years moving from Valdosta, GA. He was a Viet Nam War veteran serving in the Army, a residential construction framer and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Terrell Edward Massey and Louise Gay Massey, his first wife, Vivian Thomas Massey, a son, Greg Spivey, a brother Edward Massey and a sister Jeanette Massey.
Survivors include his wife, Linda McKenzie Oliver Massey of Albany, GA, two sons, Franklin Spivey of Valdosta, GA, Danny Massey (Marketa) of Hahira, GA, two daughters, Lisa Spivey, San Destin, FL, Denise Mitchell, Ft. Walton, FL, a step-son, Lamar Oliver (Christie), Baconton, GA, a step-daughter, Kelly Causey (Allen), Baconton, GA, three brothers, Warren Massey (Nona), Marietta, GA, Floyd Massey (Grace),LaGrange, GA, Steve Massey (Diane), Valdosta, GA, five sisters, Janice Grier (Irvin), Brooks Co., GA, Joyce Rucker, Clyattville, GA, Patricia Jewel, Valdosta, GA, Faye Watson (Billy),Cobb, GA, and Joann Williams (W.C.), Valdosta GA,twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.
