| Obituary: | The funeral service of Robert L. (Bob) Walthall, (GYSGT USMC Ret.), 67, of Albany, GA, who died Monday, July 14, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Mathews Funeral Home with full military honors. Rev. Bob Prince will officiate.
A native of Washington, D.C., Mr. Walthall had resided in Albany since 1978 moving from Virginia Beach, VA. He retired from the Marine Corps after twenty years and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. After retiring from the military, Mr. Walthall was employed as a logistics manager at the Marine Corps Logistics Base.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Walthall of Albany, GA, two daughters, Yvette Turner and her husband, Jerry of Macon, GA and Sherrie Riley of Warwick, GA, two grandchildren, Jared Turner and Lauren Turner of Macon, GA, three brothers, Fred M. Walthall, Jr. and his wife, Jean of Madison, FL and Dwight Walthall and his wife, Joan, of Edgewater, MD and Ted Walthall and his wife, Irma of King George, VA, five sisters, Delores Lowman of Westminster, MD, Eva Robinson of Philadelphia, PA, LaNae Grice and her husband, Victor of Fredericksburg, VA, Suzanne Kimball and her husband, Bob of Springhill, FL and Cheryl Helsley and her husband, John of DeWitt, VA.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
