The family will receive friends Friday, May 7, 2010 at Mathews Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A native of Tampa, FL, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents, Col. Ralph Joseph Evans, II, U.S.A.F., and Scottie Evans. As part of a military family, Mr. Evans lived many places during his childhood including Washington, D.C., Hamilton, Bermuda, Houston, Texas, Columbus, Ohio, Loring, Maine and Homestead, FL. Following his graduation from West Palm Beach and Miami Dade Colleges, Mr. Evans traveled and performed as a musician for most of his career. He was last associated with Albany Title Company as an abstractor. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Matthews Evans of Albany, GA, his sister, Margaret Dawn Evans of Decatur, GA, his parents-in-law, Walter and Evangeline Matthews of Albany, GA and a niece, Joan Evans of Melbourne, FL.
